Senior Software Engineer, Platform development, Amazon Web Services, PHP

Job description:

A privately held, early stage small and already profitable company nestled in the epicenter of San Francisco's technology hub with other companies like Twitter, TechCrunch and Zynga is looking for a talented Software Engineer to join their team which is building a great mobile platform with interesting server-side technologies, scaling issues, caching strategies, a beautiful web dashboard and an analytics component on top of all that.

The team is made of ex-game developers and tech super-nerds with extensive experience in creating, launching and monetizing smartphone apps. They are looking for awesome people who are smart, motivated, and excited about working in a fast-paced environment. You should be able to context switch fast, and always be looking for ways to improve, both personally and for the company.

This position is for somebody who's passionate about all aspects of development. You can jump from client to server, view-layer to data-layer. You like to learn new technologies and keep up to date with what's new and what's current, and you are looking for a position that lets you grow personally.

Qualifications:

Strong desire to work in an early stage startup; startup work experience is highly desirable
Exceptional problem solving and learning abilities
Extensive knowledge of Linux and LAMP stack development environment
Strong knowledge of PHP
Understanding of core database principles, experience with large database sets, proper db indexing
Good core knowledge of HTML / CSS / Javascript
Experience building out a large web portal with MVC architecture, standards for CSS, HTML, JS

Pluses:

Experience with Amazon Web Services
Basic knowledge of CSS3 / WebKit / HTML5
Hands-on experience with Ruby
Scripting experience : Python, cron, bash
Knowledge of queueing technologies (SQS, RabbitMQ, Gearman)
Knowledge of MongoDB, Reddis, SimpleDB
Mobile experience on iOS / Android
