Lead Web Applications Engineer, UILocation: San Mateo, CA Position type: full-time permanent Job description: Leading provider of optimization solutions for live and on-demand video streaming services is looking for Lead or Senior Web Applications engineer to join their exceptional team of engineers and scientists. You will have an opportunity to work closely with all members of engineering team to deliver high quality web applications based on video insight data for premium media customers. *** The company values talent and enthusiasm and provides very generous compensations packages and flexible schedule with opportunity for partial telecommute. The central office location ensures easy commute to all places in Bay Area. *** Responsibilities: - Manage the overall visual design for the application, including all branding and navigational elements
- Elegantly implement page designs in standards-compliant dynamic XHTML and CSS
- Implement functionality in JavaScript, Actionscript or similar languages
- Collaborate with the design team to define the information architecture, advocating Web interaction design best practices with a focus on consistency and usability
- Collaborate with the backend team for the design of data accessing interface and functionalities
- Create rapid prototypes of interfaces to be used as a blueprint for content and technical development
- Work closely with back-end developers to find ways to push the limits of existing Web technology in service of creating the best possible user experience
Qualifications: - Strong desire to work in a dynamic startup environment
- Extensive Web application design and development skills, including information architecture, interface design and visual design
- Expert Web development skills, including JavaScript, Actionscript, DHTML (HTML, CSS and JavaScript) and XML
- Ability to lead a team and facilitate the meetings
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- Self motivated and willing to "do what it takes" to get the job done
Pluses: - Working knowledge of industry standard visual design tools (Visio, Photoshop, Illustrator)
- Usability testing and user research experience
- Knowledge of AJAX
- Polished style in Web applications design
