Senior Software Engineer, C++, simulations, 3D Metal Printing Technology

Job description:

Series B funded by top VC firms company is looking for a Senior Simulation Development Engineer to join their fast growing team in Campbell, CA, to work on a disruptive 3D Metal printing technology.

You will be working on 3D printing technology simulating the physics at the heart of a disruptive 3D metal printing system. And you will be responsible for developing the software products for modeling and simulating multi-physics phenomena, and developing numerical algorithms. You are a self-driven independent thinker and engineer.

The team is looking for a self-starter that enjoys working in a highly dynamic startup environment. You will enjoy small company atmosphere and excellent benefits including healthcare coverage and 401(K) matching.


  • Strong desire to work for an early stage startup company on disruptive technologies and make it a success.
  • 5+ years of industry experience in complex software product development.
  • Strong C/C++ software development experience.
  • Experience developing software for numerical simulations, scientific programming experience.
  • Experience with parallel programming using OpenMP, MPI, CUDA, etc.
  • Solid experience building backend for user-facing applications (i.e. CAD-type applications running on desktop).
  • BS degree in CS; advanced degree is a plus.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships and work collaboratively across the organization.


  • Strong knowledge of Matlab and/or Python is highly desired.
  • Qt knowledge
  • Experience writing Finite Element Analysis (FEA) solvers
  • Experience in graphics
  • Startup experience
